MARBELLA
Beyond the obvious sun, sea and sand, there is more to this place to suit every holiday maker’s preference. Most of the visitors who come to Marbella come here for the weather to escape the cold winters in their countries. Marbella has beautiful golden beaches starting from Cabopino right through to Estepona all dotted with beach restaurants (chiringuitos) serving fresh seafood and local fare.

Exploring Marbella
From Marbella, one can explore the mountain and inland white villages like Ojen with it’s wine bodega where one can taste various wines of the region. The famous town of Ronda is less than half an hour’s drive inland. Ronda is famous for it’s 150 metres deep gorge with an 18th century bridge connecting the two sides of the town. It also has one of the oldest bullrings in Andalucia and on certain days of the week , it is open to the public where one can stand in the arena. There is also a museum dedicated to bullfighting. Then there is the charming town of Benahavis where one can enjoy the local cuisine in one of the many restaurants. This town is the home to many talented and creative artists.
For the horse racing enthusiasts, there is the racetracks in Sotogrande and Mijas which are easily accessible from Marbella
Ascari Race Track
If you want to experience an adrenalin rush, then head to the Ascari race track near Ronda. You will experience an entirely new concept in adventure holidays. With it’s 5,425 metres race track, the longest in Spain with a 20 room luxury hotel.
Marbella Lifestyle
Should you want to spend a day on the beach with the beautiful people, there is the world famous Nikki Beach near the Don Carlos Hotel, Puro Beach in Laguna Village and Ocean Club in Puerto Banus.
Marbella is a golfer’s paradise, there is always one close to whichever part of town you are staying. The famous Valderrama Golf Club whch was the venue for the 1997 Ryder Cup.
One can admire the biggest and most modern yachts moored in the famous port of Puerto Banus. One can even spot some celebrities dining, strolling or shopping in the numerous designer shops along the port. The night life is never dull, there are thousands of places to go to however you want to spend your nights in Marbella.
From what we have mentioned here we only have scratched the surface of the attractions of Marbella, there is a lot more to discover. Once you experience Marbella you will be reluctant to go back.
The roof down, wind blowing in your hair, 30º in the shade you can hear the burrrr of the engine, driving down the famous Marbella Golden mile, off to the port to have lunch on the boat. (sounds like a dream ? Not anymore )
